OFFICIAL RULES OF THE DEFENDER AND OASIS: ROCK ’N' ROLL STARS ALIGN SWEEPSTAKES
NO PURCHASE IS NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. A PURCHASE OR PAYMENT OF ANY KIND WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING.
ELIGIBILITY
The DEFENDER AND OASIS: ROCK ’N' ROLL STARS ALIGN Sweepstakes (“Promotion”) is open only to natural persons who (at the time of entry): (i) are legal residents of Canada; and (ii) have reached the legal age of majority in their province/territory of residence. VOID OUTSIDE OF CANADA AND WHEREVER PROHIBITED OR RESTRICTED BY LAW. Promotion may only be entered from and in eligible jurisdictions. Promotion Entities, prize providers, and their parent, subsidiary and affiliate companies, employees, agents and suppliers, and the immediate family (spouse, parents, siblings and children) and household members (whether related or not) of each such person are not eligible to participate or win any prize. Sponsor may request any potential winner to provide proof (in a form and substance satisfactory to the Sponsor) that such person is the winner. Any potential winner is subject to verification before any prize will be awarded. By participating in the Promotion, entrant fully and unconditionally agrees and accepts these Official Rules and Sponsor’s decisions, which are final and binding in all matters related to the Promotion. Winning a prize is contingent upon fulfilling all requirements set forth herein.
SPONSOR
The Sponsor of the Promotion is Jaguar Land Rover Canada ULC, 75 Courtneypark Drive West, Unit 3 Mississauga, Ontario, Canada L5W 0E3 (“Sponsor”).
ADMINISTRATOR
The Administrator of the Promotion is Swivel Group LLC, 2900 Pear Point Rd. Friday Harbor, Washington 98250 (“Administrator”)
Sponsor and Administrator are collectively referred to herein as “Promotion Entities”.
PROMOTION PERIOD
The Promotion period begins at 9:00 AM Eastern Standard Time (“EST”) on July 2nd and ends at 5:00 PM EST on August 4th (“Promotion Period”). Administrator’s computer is the official time keeping device of the Promotion.
HOW TO ENTER
There are two (2) ways to enter:
Test Drive
Visit an authorized Land Rover Dealership (“Dealership”) in Canada during the Promotion Period and complete a test drive of a Defender vehicle (“Test Drive”). An authorized member of the Dealership will then complete all necessary steps for you to earn one (1) entry (“Entry”). To be eligible to book and complete a Test Drive, you must: (i) hold a valid and unencumbered driver’s license; and (iii) be insurable. Failure to meet any of the requirements stipulated in these Official Rules and/or as otherwise specified by or on behalf of the Sponsor (including, but not limited to, by a Dealership) may result in the inability to participate in a Test Drive. Prior to completing a Test Drive, the Dealership may require you to produce, properly execute and return certain documentation.
Alternative Method of Entry
To obtain one (1) Entry without completing a Test Drive, print your first name, last name, telephone number and complete mailing address (including postal code) on a plain white piece of paper and mail it (in an envelope with sufficient Canadian postage) to: Swivel Group LLC, 2900 Pear Point Rd. Friday Harbor, Washington 98250 (“Request”). Upon receipt of a valid Request submitted and received in accordance with these Rules, you will be eligible to receive one (1) Entry. To be eligible, the Request you submit must: (i) be received separately in an envelope bearing sufficient Canadian postage (i.e. multiple Requests in the same envelope will be void); and (ii) be post-marked during the Promotion Period and received prior to the Selection Date.
For all Entries
Each entrant is eligible to earn a maximum one (1) Entry during the Promotion Period, regardless of method or combination of methods of entry or number of Entries/Requests submitted. Any attempt to obtain more than the stated number of Entries by using multiple/different identities, registrations and logins, or any other methods will void all such Entries and you may be disqualified. Use of any repetitive, automatic, programmed or similar technology, system or agent (including, without limitation, promotion entry services) to enter is prohibited and will void all of such Entries. Any automated receipt (such as one confirming delivery of text message or e-mail) does not constitute proof of actual receipt by Administrator of an Entry. Promotion Entities are not responsible for lost, late, incomplete, invalid, unintelligible or misdirected Entries, which will be disqualified. All Entries become the property of Administrator and none will be acknowledged or returned.
PRIZING
One (1) pair of tickets per Winner, with an approximate retail value of one thousand and sixty Canadian dollars and no cents ($1060.00) per pair in Grand Prizes awarded as TICKETS (“Event”) Other exclusions may apply. Tickets may not be transferred or sold other than through authorized channels. Use if tickets are subject to the terms and conditions of the issuer. A total of twenty (20) pairs of tickets, (Total Grand Prizes) will be awarded with a total approximate Retail Value of : Twenty-one thousand, and Two Hundred Dollars and No Cents ($21,200.00).
IMPORTANT NOTE: ANY AND ALL OTHER COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH ATTENDING THE EVENT WILL BE THE SOLE AND ABSOLUTE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE WINNER AND THEIR GUEST(S). NONE OF THE PROMOTION ENTITIES, NOR ANY OTHER PERSON OR ENTITY, WILL BE PROVIDING ANY FORM OF COMPENSATION WHATSOEVER WITH RESPECT TO ANY COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH ATTENDING THE EVENT (INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, TRAVEL OR ACCOMMODATION). FOR GREATER CERTAINTY AND THE AVOIDANCE OF ANY DOUBT WHATSOEVER, THE GRAND PRIZE INCLUDES ONLY THOSE SPECIFIC ELEMENTS EXPRESSLY OUTLINED ABOVE IN THESE OFFICIAL RULES.
Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible Entries received in accordance with these Official Rules. Lost or stolen tickets will not be replaced. Only listed prizes will be awarded and no other prizing or substitutions will be made. If the Event is cancelled/rescheduled/postponed, Sponsor reserves the right to attempt to substitute tickets to a different event or to not award the prize. Winner agrees to accept the Grand Prize “as is”, and hereby acknowledges that Promotion Entities have neither made nor are in any manner responsible or liable for any warranty, representation, or guarantee, express or implied, in fact or in law, relative to the prize, including express warranties (if any) provided exclusively by a prize supplier that are sent along with the prize. The valuation of any prize stated is based on available information provided to Sponsor.
SELECTION AND VERIFICATION OF POTENTIAL WINNER
Administrator will randomly select twenty (20) potential Grand Prize winner from all eligible Entries on or around August 5, 2025 (“Selection Date”). Administrator’s decisions as to the administration and operation of the Promotion and the selection of the potential winner are final and binding in all matters related to the Promotion. Administrator reserves the right to disqualify any participant or winner and may refuse to award any prize to a person who is ineligible or has violated any rule, gained unfair advantage in participating in the Promotion, or obtained winner status using fraudulent means.
NO ONE IS A WINNER UNLESS AND UNTIL THE SPONSOR OFFICIALLY CONFIRMS THEM AS A WINNER IN ACCORDANCE WITH THESE OFFICIAL RULES, EVEN IF SUCH PERSON IS ANNOUNCED AS THE WINNER OR AN ELIGIBLE WINNER. BEFORE BEING DECLARED AS THE CONFIRMED GRAND PRIZE WINNER, the eligible winner will be required to correctly answer a mathematical skill-testing question without mechanical or other aid.
The potential winner is subject to verification by Sponsor. Sponsor will not accept screen shots or other evidence of winning in lieu of its validation process. Potential winner must continue to comply with all terms and conditions of these Official Rules and winning is contingent upon fulfilling all requirements. Potential winner will be notified by email or phone, as applicable. Potential winner will be required to sign and return an Affidavit of Eligibility, Liability and Publicity Release, which must be received by Sponsor within seventy-two (72) hours of the date notice or attempted notice is sent, in order to claim the Grand Prize. If the potential winner cannot be contacted, fails to sign and return the required affidavit within the required time period, declines the Grand Prize or the Grand Prize is returned as undeliverable, or otherwise fails to fully comply with these Official Rules, the potential winner forfeits the Grand Prize. In the event that the potential winner is disqualified for any reason, Administrator reserves the right, in its sole discretion and time-permitting, to select an alternate potential winner by random drawing from among all remaining eligible Entries. Any alternate potential winner is subject to all requirements set forth in these Official Rules. If an alternate potential winner declines the Grand Prize or is disqualified, the Grand Prize will not be awarded.
Potential winner is restricted from any communication (e.g., announcing, telling any other person, or posting online via website, blog or any social media platform) stating that they have been contacted or are a potential winner or winner until Sponsor has fully verified eligibility and Sponsor has notified potential winner that they have been approved to communicate winner status.
If, for any reason, an entry is confirmed by Administrator to have been erroneously deleted, lost, or otherwise destroyed or corrupted, the sole remedy is to submit another Promotion entry, if possible. If the Promotion, or any part of it, is discontinued for any reason, Sponsor, in its sole discretion, may elect to hold a random drawing from among all eligible Entries received up to the date of discontinuance for any prize offered herein. No more than the stated number of prizes will be awarded. In the event that production, technical, seeding, or programming errors or any other reasons cause more than the stated number of prizes as set forth herein to be available and/or claimed, Sponsor reserves the right to award only the stated number of prizes by a random drawing among all legitimate, unawarded, eligible prize claims.
PUBLICITY
Except where prohibited, participation in the Promotion constitutes your consent for Promotion Entities to use your name, social media identity, likeness, voice, opinions, hometown and province/territory for promotional purposes in any media, worldwide, without further notice, payment or consideration.
PRIVACY
By entering this Promotion, each entrant expressly consents to the Sponsor, its agents and/or representatives, storing, sharing and using the personal information submitted for the purpose of administering the Promotion and in accordance with Sponsor’s privacy policy (available at: https://www.landroverusa.com/privacy-policy). This section does not limit any other consent(s) that an individual may provide the Sponsor or others in relation to the collection, use and/or disclosure of their personal information.
ERRORS AND UNAUTHORIZED ACTIVITIES
In the event that the operation, security, or administration of the Promotion is impaired in any way for any reason, including without limitation, fraud, virus or other technical problem, or any other reason beyond the control of Promotion Entities, Sponsor may, in its sole discretion, either: (a) suspend the Promotion to address the impairment and then resume the Promotion in a manner that best conforms to the spirit of these Official Rules; or (b) cancel or terminate the Promotion and, if feasible, award the prizes in a random drawing from among all eligible entries received up to the time of the impairment. Administrator reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual it finds to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Promotion or to be acting in violation of the Official Rules of this or any other promotion, or in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner. Any attempt by any person to undermine the legitimate operation of the Promotion may be a violation of criminal and civil law, and, should such an attempt be made, Promotion Entities reserve the right to seek damages from any such person to the fullest extent permitted by law. Sponsor’s failure to enforce any provision of these Official Rules shall not constitute a waiver of that provision.
RELEASE
Except where prohibited, by participating in the Promotion, you agree to release Promotion Entities, prize providers, promotional agencies, franchisees, and each of their respective parent companies, affiliates, subsidiaries, successors, assigns, agents, representatives, officers, directors, shareholders, and employees (collectively “Released Parties”), from and against any and all liability for any claims, costs, injuries, losses or damages of any kind arising in connection with the Promotion, including without limitation (a) the unauthorized or illegal access to personally identifiable or sensitive information; (b) acceptance, possession, use, misuse, or nonuse of the Grand Prize that may be awarded; (c) any incorrect or inaccurate information, whether caused by entrants, printing errors or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the Promotion; (d) technical and/or communications malfunctions, errors or failures of any kind; (e) unauthorized human intervention in any part of the Promotion; (f) technical or human error which may occur in the administration of the Promotion or the processing of Entries; (g) any injury or damage to persons or property which may be caused, directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, from your participation in the Promotion or receipt or use or misuse of any prize; (h) if Sponsor must cancel or terminate the Promotion for any reason; or (i) if any prize cannot be awarded due to circumstances beyond Promotion Entities’ control. You agree that in any cause of action, the Released Parties’ liability shall be limited to the cost of entering and participating in the Promotion and in no event shall the Released Parties be liable for attorneys’ fees or other legal costs.
You acknowledge that the Released Parties have neither made nor are in any manner responsible or liable for any warranty, representation or guarantee, expressed or implied, in fact or in law, relative to a prize including, without limitation, the prize quality or availability.
DISPUTES
The invalidity or unenforceability of any provision of these Official Rules shall not affect the validity or enforceability of any other provision. In the event that any provision is determined to be invalid or otherwise unenforceable or illegal, these Official Rules shall otherwise remain in effect and shall be construed in accordance with the terms as if the invalid or illegal provision were not contained herein.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, all issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules or the rights and obligations of participants, Sponsor or any of the other the Promotion Entities in connection with the Promotion will be governed by and construed in accordance with the domestic laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules or provisions that would cause the application of any other jurisdiction’s laws. The parties hereby consent to exclusive jurisdiction and venue of the courts located in Ontario in any action to enforce (or otherwise relating to) these Official Rules or relating to this Promotion.
